The celebration of Pride and Juneteenth offers an opportunity for reflection on intersecting identities. Join in a day of celebration as we highlight the needs to support and make space for Black LGBTQ youth.
Juneteenth: A Celebration of Freedom
Juneteenth, observed on June 19th, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved Texans were finally informed of their liberation, two months after Robert E. Lee surrendered, ending the Civil War, and more than two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
On June 16, 2025, the City of Upper Arlington will be holding a Juneteenth Flag Raising Ceremony beginning at 6PM at the Municipal Services Center.
